Join us for one, two, or all three of these workshops designed for active jobseekers!April 14th: Cover Letters and Resumes that Get ResultsWriting a cover letter and creating an accomplishment driven resume is a critical piece of the job search process. This workshop will identify key aspects to include that will get you noticed, and get you the interview! April 21st: Ace Your Next Interview Wish you were more confident and prepared for job interviews? This workshop will cover interview preparation, types of interviews, crafting answers to common questions, including behavioral questions, and follow-up. April 28th: The Art of Successful Networking: Making Connections Count Face-to-face networking is an essential skill to master and an important aspect of your job search strategy. This interactive workshop will cover the true definition of networking, networking opportunities, principles, tips & etiquette, common points of interest and the concept of reciprocity.All workshops in this series will be presented by Susie OâBryant. Susie is a Global Career Development Facilitator with over 20 years experience in Workforce and Career Development. Through her work with the Peralta Community College District, EASTBAY Works and the Department of Rehabilitation, she has provided services to students, individuals in career transition, and community members with disabilities.

Oakland Public Library’s Main Library is the big central branch in downtown Oakland, a short walk from Lake Merritt and near a bunch of bus lines and BART. Inside, it feels like a traditional multi story city library, with a busy ground floor, quieter upper levels, and lots of tables, study spots, and public computers. There is paid street parking and a couple of garages nearby, but spaces can be tight, so many people use transit instead. more...
