The Health & Human Resource Education Center (HHREC) will be providing onsite community resources support at Eastmont Library's Community Hub on a weekly basis plus select Fridays (9/25, 10/23). The HHREC team can connect you with Community Health Workers, Medi-Cal Peer Support Specialists, a Substance Use Disorder Registered Counselor, and Holistic Nutritionist. Do you need support with case management, CalFresh applications or Medi-Cal coordination? Other assistance available includes DMV appointments, health education, housing navigation, referrals for mental health or substance use disorders. HHREC wants to make it easier for community members to connect with services and receive support in a familiar and accessible setting. Look for the table with the HHREC banner!

Oakland Public Library’s Eastmont Branch is inside the Eastmont Town Center in East Oakland, on the second floor of the complex. The space is straightforward and functional, with a typical branch layout: service desk near the entrance, rows of shelves, public computers, and a clearly marked Teen Zone. There is an elevator up from the main level and the entry from the parking side has a low-slope ramp and power-assisted doors, so getting in with strollers or mobility devices is simple. more...
