The Artist: Jon Otis, son of the “Godfather of Rhythm and Blues” Johnny Otis, carries on a formidable musical dynasty. A master drummer, percussionist, and vocalist, Jon has spent decades touring with greats like Solomon Burke and his brother Shuggie Otis. The Setting: The Saloon is an unapologetic, no-frills dive bar where the music is loud and the history is thick. There are no fancy craft cocktails here—just cold beer, stiff shots, and a “Dolby on steroids” sound system that makes every kick drum hit resonate in your chest.
