Laura Dreyer brings a world-class voice to Mr. Tipple’s Recording Studio — a New York-based saxophonist, woodwind artist, and composer originally from the San Francisco Bay Area whose catchy original compositions weave lyrical melodies with jazz and Brazilian rhythms into an exciting, contemporary sound. A seasoned recording artist with five albums as a leader — including Vida. Arte. Amor. recorded in Rio de Janeiro and her newest Água e Sol — she has headlined at the Kennedy Center, Blue Note Napa, and festivals from Newport to Montreal to Berlin, and recently performed with the Dom Salvador Samba Jazz Sextet in Brazil in 2025. A recipient of three NEA grants and a 2024 Chamber Music America/Performance Plus Grant, she has performed alongside Joe Henderson, Dave Brubeck, Dee Dee Bridgewater, Clark Terry, and The Manhattan Transfer, making her one of the most accomplished and well-traveled musicians to grace the Mr. Tipple’s stage.

Mr. Tipple’s Jazz Club sits in San Francisco’s Civic Center area, just off Market, on a block that feels quieter than the room inside. It is a compact, low-lit space with a small stage, tightly packed tables, and a long bar that runs along one side. Sightlines are generally good, but it is an intimate room, so expect to be close to other guests and to the band. more...
