Job searching can be emotionally exhausting and unpredictable. This interactive workshop offers practical strategies to help you stay motivated, manage stress, and protect your well-being throughout the process. Together, we'll explore ways to navigate rejection, quiet self-doubt, and maintain momentum during periods of uncertainty. Participants will leave with practical tools they can immediately apply to support both their job search and their overall resilience.Our workshop facilitators will be Ellery Graves and Kevin Grant of EKG Trainings & Consulting.Ellery Graves is a career coach and facilitator with more than a decade of experience supporting job seekers throughout Oakland and the East Bay. At the Oakland Private Industry Council, she worked alongside hundreds of individuals navigating career transitions, employment barriers, and the emotional ups and downs of finding livable wage work, especially for those returning home from incarceration or with long gaps in employment. Ellery combines practical job search guidance with tools that help people stay grounded, resilient, and connected to their strengths throughout the process. She believes that while job searching can be challenging, it can also become an opportunity to reconnect with what matters most and move forward with renewed confidence.
Kevin Grant is a nationally renowned expert in street outreach, violence mediation, re-entry, and employment programs aimed at helping youth and young adults find alternatives to violence and crime. He began his career helping those returning home from incarceration find livable wage employment. He has thirty years of experience working with at-risk youth and the formerly incarcerated in the San Francisco Bay Area and has literally touched thousands of lives.

Rockridge Branch sits on College Avenue in the middle of Oakland’s Rockridge neighborhood, a short walk from Rockridge BART and the rest of the College Avenue shops and cafés. It is a multi-story branch with an elevator and automatic doors at the main entrance, so getting in and around the building is straightforward for strollers and wheelchairs.
