Sewing 101: Learn Your Machine & Start Sewing
Master the sewing machine in just three sessions! This hands-on course is designed for beginners who want to get comfortable behind the needle. You'll learn how to set up and operate a sewing machine, practice basic stitching techniques, and complete simple projects that build your skills step by step. Materials and some sewing machines provided. If you have your own machine and want to learn how to use it, please bring it along.
Space is limited—register only if you can attend all three sessions.
Oakland Public Library’s Main Library is the big central branch in downtown Oakland, a short walk from Lake Merritt and near a bunch of bus lines and BART. Inside, it feels like a traditional multi story city library, with a busy ground floor, quieter upper levels, and lots of tables, study spots, and public computers. There is paid street parking and a couple of garages nearby, but spaces can be tight, so many people use transit instead. more...
