Learn to use a sewing machine at the library! In this monthly drop-in program, we'll guide you through the basics of using a Singer Heavy Duty sewing machine. Perfect for the complete beginner or anyone needing a refresher. Join us in the Main Library TeenZone from 3:30-5:00pm on 1st Thursdays. 

For teens ages 12-18. All materials provided. No previous experience required. First come, first served!

    Oakland Public Library’s Main Library is the big central branch in downtown Oakland, a short walk from Lake Merritt and near a bunch of bus lines and BART. Inside, it feels like a traditional multi story city library, with a busy ground floor, quieter upper levels, and lots of tables, study spots, and public computers. There is paid street parking and a couple of garages nearby, but spaces can be tight, so many people use transit instead. more...
