Robert McCockran is a veteransâ representative at Americaâs Job Center/Employment Development Department (EDD) in Oakland. He will be in the Community Kiosk once a month to help military veterans with job leads, tips, and referrals. He can also answer some unemployment insurance questions.
This is especially focused on veterans who have significant barriers to employmentâmen and women who are older, justice-involved, homeless, or recently discharged from military service.
Robert McCockran will be available at the Community Kiosk on the third Thursdays of the month.

Oakland Public Library’s Main Library is the big central branch in downtown Oakland, a short walk from Lake Merritt and near a bunch of bus lines and BART. Inside, it feels like a traditional multi story city library, with a busy ground floor, quieter upper levels, and lots of tables, study spots, and public computers. There is paid street parking and a couple of garages nearby, but spaces can be tight, so many people use transit instead. more...
