Rhythmix Cultural Works is a small community arts center in Alameda that combines a 175-seat theater, an art gallery and classroom spaces in a converted industrial building. The main theater is used for concerts, dance, theater and special events like the folk opera “Flight Lessons,” with standard raked seating and a straightforward stage setup. Next to the performance space, the K Gallery runs visual art shows such as the “Flight Patterns” exhibit curated by Deborah Crooks, with evening reception hours that feel like a low-key neighborhood opening rather than a formal museum event. more...
