Golden Gate Branch is the neighborhood library for the Golden Gate part of North Oakland, in the stretch between Emeryville and Berkeley. The building is a modest multi story brick library with a fairly quiet feel inside. The meeting room on the main floor holds about 50 people and is where many events are set up, from storytimes with floor space for strollers to community talks.

The branch is part of the Oakland Public Library system and carries a sizable African American collection for a neighborhood library, reflecting the history of the surrounding community. It was built in 1918 as a Carnegie funded branch and still functions as a local hub where North Oakland residents come for books, internet access, and steady week to week programming.
