Trivia Tuesday — Alameda Brewing
Quinn's Lighthouse sits right on the Oakland waterfront in Embarcadero Cove, a short hop from the Jack London area, with views across the marina and the estuary. The building is literally an old lighthouse, so from the outside it looks like a tall, weathered house on stilts surrounded by boats and parking lots rather than a busy commercial strip. Inside, it feels like a casual neighborhood spot where people roll in from nearby marinas, hotels, and the surrounding neighborhood for drinks, seafood plates, and a mix of American and Asian-leaning bar food.

Events like Comedy Oakland's Best Comedy Night and holiday shows usually run upstairs. The Upper Deck Pub level has a relaxed, slightly rough-around-the-edges bar vibe with peanut shells on the floor, basic tables and chairs, and sightlines that work fine for standup as long as you are reasonably close to the small stage area. Expect a full bar, a solid list of draft beers, and servers moving between comedy fans and regulars watching the game or hanging out. On warmer nights, people drift out to the wraparound deck that overlooks the marina, and you can hear the show from outside even if you are not right in front of the mic.
Downstairs, the Yacht Club dining room is quieter and more set up for sit-down meals, including brunch on Sundays, with big windows facing the water. Quinn's operates out of the former Oakland Harbor Lighthouse, a historic structure originally built in the early 1900s and later moved to this spot, so the whole place has a lived-in, slightly quirky feel that comes from being an old working building first and a restaurant and event space second.
