Using pages from old books, magazines and newspapers, lellobird will show us how to block out text to leave selected words behind to create a poem. Weâll look at examples from other artists/poets, talk about how to choose words and explore several different techniques and styles for covering up the unused words. Youâll create a piece of personalized art you can display or add to a scrapbook or journal!

Rockridge Branch sits on College Avenue in the middle of Oakland’s Rockridge neighborhood, a short walk from Rockridge BART and the rest of the College Avenue shops and cafés. It is a multi-story branch with an elevator and automatic doors at the main entrance, so getting in and around the building is straightforward for strollers and wheelchairs.
