Join us on Thursday, Oct 22nd, as we celebrate the wine and food of Croatia and Slovenia! We’ll be showcasing the diversity and range of these remarkable countries, from the rolling green hills of Štajerska in northern Slovenia to the sunny, Mediterranean climate of Croatia’s Dalmatian coast and islands.
With a complex and fascinating history that spans the ancient Greeks and Romans, the maritime empire of Venice, as well as Habsburg and Ottoman rule, the cuisines of Slovenia and Croatia combine a unique blend of cultural and culinary traditions. Chef Elaine Osuna will be preparing a selection of dishes that explores the regional variety of both countries - including skampi na buzara (Croatian shrimp stew), sarma (Turkish-influenced cabbage rolls in tomato sauce), idrijski žlikrofi (potato-filled dumplings with butter and herbs from Slovenia), and ljubljanski zrezek (Slovenian schnitzel)!
We will be offering glasses and flights of wine from some of the most exciting small scale, artisanal wineries of the region. Our Wine Director, Brian Stapleton, has travelled the region extensively and will be on hand throughout the evening to share the stories of the people and places behind these extraordinary wines.
We’ll be serving our wine and food specials all night, and reservations are always recommended, so grab a spot here.
