A Taste Of West
Library Grounds Cleanups at West Oakland Library

Spend a Saturday morning caring for the West Oakland Branch with the West Oakland Library Friends (WOLF). Volunteers will help with trash pickup, watering the outdoor pollinator garden, and general cleanup around the libraryâs exterior.
Snacks and coffee will be provided. Students and others seeking volunteer or community service hours are welcome!

West Oakland Branch of the Oakland Public Library is a straightforward neighborhood library in West Oakland, a short walk from DeFremery Park and the public pool. Inside, visitors find the usual mix of shelves for adults, teens, and kids, along with a noticeable African American collection and smaller Arabic and Spanish sections. There are graphic novels for different age ranges, toys set out for young children, and a small study room that people use for quiet work or tutoring. more...
