Join us in the library for a welcoming conversation with Yasir, the owner of Mohka House, a café in Oakland's Dimond district, rooted in Yemeni coffee and tea traditions. He will share stories about the history of coffee and tea in Yemen, their cultural significance, and how those traditions inspired the creation of Mocha House in Oakland. Guests are invited to enjoy authentic Yemeni coffee delivered with love, straight from the beautiful farms of Haraz, along with freshly brewed tea and traditional Yemeni pastries, while meeting the owners and learning more about their passion for sharing culture through hospitality. Rockridge Branch sits on College Avenue in the middle of Oakland’s Rockridge neighborhood, a short walk from Rockridge BART and the rest of the College Avenue shops and cafés. It is a multi-story branch with an elevator and automatic doors at the main entrance, so getting in and around the building is straightforward for strollers and wheelchairs.
