Teens! Machine Sewing 101

Learn to use a sewing machine at the library! From threading the machine to stitching in a straight line to creating your first project, this series is perfect for beginners ready to start sewing. No prior knowledge or experience needed. In three sessions, you'll be able to confidently use a sewing machine and leave with your own handmade pencil case or tote bag.
For teens ages 13-18. The series will be on the following Tuesdays from 3:00-5:00pm at the Main Library TeenZone: June 23, June 30, and July 7. Registration is required for the full series - limited spots available. All materials provided.

Oakland Public Library’s Main Library is the big central branch in downtown Oakland, a short walk from Lake Merritt and near a bunch of bus lines and BART. Inside, it feels like a traditional multi story city library, with a busy ground floor, quieter upper levels, and lots of tables, study spots, and public computers. There is paid street parking and a couple of garages nearby, but spaces can be tight, so many people use transit instead. more...
