Crybaby is a midsize nightclub and music venue in Uptown Oakland, right in the cluster of bars and theaters near the Fox. It is a short walk from 19th St Oakland BART, and people mostly rely on street parking or rideshares if they are driving.
The building used to be the Uptown Nightclub and was reworked into Crybaby around 2022, keeping the same basic footprint with updated design and a new D&B Audiotechnik sound system. Capacity is a few hundred people, so nights can feel packed but still manageable. The venue is part of the newer wave of independent club spaces in downtown, with a mix of local party brands and touring guests rotating through the calendar.
