Learn every step of the chocolate making process, from growing, fermenting and roasting cacao to grinding, tempering and tasting! Time & Location Thu Apr 2, 2026, 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM Preserved, 5540 College Ave, Oakland, CA 94618 About the Event In this hands-on workshop, we'll learn how to crack and winnow freshly roasted cacao beans, process those beans using a melanger, and demystify the art of tempering (plus chocolate tastings along the way)! You’ll leave the class with two bars of single origin dark chocolate that you helped to craft. This class is led by Julia Street of J Street Chocolate. Julia's small batch chocolate bars showcase cacao on its own and paired with fermented ingredients and by-products of food production (aka food waste). All students will receive a 10% discount on post-workshop purchases in our store. All Workshop Sales are final. Reschedule requests require 5 days advanced notice.
