Make Your Own Seasonal Soaps

In this class, local maker and textile artist Bea Byrne will guide you through designing and mixing your own personalized soaps. Choose the colors and scents that best suit you personally, mixing and matching to create unique combinations. Each student will leave class with 3 individual soaps, as well as the know-how to make more at home!Supplies are limited and spots are available on a first come, first served basis.This program is made possible by the Friends of the Oakland Public Library.

Brookfield Branch is a small neighborhood library in East Oakland’s Brookfield area, next to Ira Jinkins Park and sharing a building with the East Oakland Senior Center. It is a single-story space with automatic doors, all-gender single-user restrooms, and a free parking lot with accessible spaces. Inside, there are open shelves of books in English and Spanish, a kids’ corner, a few quiet tables, and nine public computers with internet, Microsoft Office, printing, and a scanner. more...
