Alpine France & Switzerland at À Côté

Join us as we welcome French wine importers Paul Duroussay of Pierreclos Imports and Gregoire Montot of G. Montot Wines. Paul and Greg will be pouring an exciting range of artisanal wines from small, family estates in Alpine France and Switzerland, served alongside regional food specialties prepared by Chef Elaine.
At À Côté we love to celebrate the unique and obscure, so of course we’ll be highlighting the local grapes and traditional wine styles that make these small Alpine regions so exceptional. We’re very excited to have two experts like Paul and Greg to share the stories of these wines and the families that make them.
Paul grew up in Pierreclos, a small commune in Burgundy just 8 miles west of Mâcon, where his parents make beautiful wines under their label Coteaux des Margots. Taking after his family, Paul studied winemaking in France before embarking on a series of internships, one which brought him to the Bay Area, where he met Alejandro Brambila while working at Jeff Cohn Cellars and partnered to establish Pierreclos Imports. They built their company around their shared values of friendship, enjoying life, and supporting small family farmers and local business.
Gregoire found his way into the wine business in the Bahamas of all places, where his wife is from and where they lived in Nassau. He then spent 7 years in Florida working for Augustan Wine Imports managing world-class wines including those of Louis Chave, Giacomo Conterno and Michel Lafarge. He then moved to Burgundy, where he earned his Master’s degree in Wine Business while also working at Domaine de Montille. It was during that time, that Gregoire started putting together G.Montot Wines, prospecting various French regions in search of small domains producing authentic, low-intervention wines to match his vision. He got his first delivery of wine in 2019 and has been riding California’s roads promoting them ever since.
We’ll be pouring exclusive wine flights and serving regional food specials throughout the restaurant all night!
