Peña Pachamama
Peña Pachamama is a small North Beach restaurant, bar, and performance space with a focus on Andean and Latin American music. The room feels like an old San Francisco club: low stage at one end, tables packed in, and a mix of locals, tourists, and regulars who follow the music calendar. On Andean and Latin World Music Nights, two-time Latin Grammy nominee Eddy Navia and Quentin Navia often play with guests like violinist Georges Lammam.

Expect traditional instruments such as charango, panpipes, and notched flutes, with a set list that ranges from Bolivian and Andean tunes to broader Latin and “world” material, usually with room for people to get up and dance.
Food is all plant-based, with a menu built around organic ingredients and South American flavors. There are cooked and raw options, many gluten-free, and things like plantains, yucca dishes, and sampler plates show up often. People who come mainly for the show usually eat during the first part of the evening, then the focus shifts to the band and dance floor. A Sunday Music Cafe series runs earlier in the evening, where Eddy and Quentin host a more laid-back gathering with music, conversation, and an all-day happy hour setup.
The spot sits in San Francisco’s old Latin Quarter, between Chinatown and the tourist traffic heading toward the Wharf. The building itself has a long nightlife history and previously housed a well-known speakeasy and later an Italian restaurant called Amelio’s, so the space feels older than the current project. Peña Pachamama is also listed by the City of San Francisco as a Legacy Business, which means it is recognized as part of the neighborhood’s cultural fabric rather than just another restaurant with a stage.
