Red Window
Red Window sits at the busy intersection in North Beach where Columbus meets Stockton, so the area outside the front door is usually active with foot traffic, cars, and people hanging around the corner. The restaurant runs as a low‑proof cocktail bar and European kitchen with a menu built around Spanish‑style tapas and other small plates, plus brunch on weekends and dinner nightly.

There is indoor seating in a compact, triangular room and a good amount of sidewalk and parklet seating, which is where most people end up if the weather is decent. Expect normal city noise, views of the Transamerica Pyramid down Columbus, and a steady stream of tourists mixed with neighborhood regulars.
When an event like Magic School Busk is scheduled, it happens directly in front of Red Window at the Stockton and Columbus corner. The buskers set up on the sidewalk near the outdoor tables, so anyone sitting outside is essentially in the middle of the performance. It can get fairly loud and crowded around the parklet during these sets, with people stopping to watch, kids dancing, and servers weaving through the crowd with food and drinks. Inside stays a bit more contained, though sound still carries in from the street, so it feels more like part of the street scene than an isolated venue.
The space is known for bright, art‑heavy decor created with local artists and designers, which gives the small interior a more visually dense feel than a typical bar or cafe. Red Window opened in 2021 in the former Caffe DeLucchi flatiron space and was set up from the start with outdoor dining on both Columbus and Stockton, which is why so much of the event activity now happens right at the curb in front of the restaurant.
