Pinot's Palette is a paint-and-sip studio in Alameda’s South Shore Center, the open-air shopping center across from the beach. It is set among chain stores and local shops, so it feels like a typical mall storefront rather than a gallery. Inside, expect rows of easels, a simple bar area, and long tables where people paint in groups. Instructors lead the class from the front with a sample painting, and the setup is geared to people who may not paint often.

All the supplies are provided for you, so you just show up for the scheduled class time.

Most sessions are structured around a specific featured painting, including themed nights like the Exclusive Verity-Inspired Art event or promotional nights tied to the studio’s grand opening. There are also project-based classes such as Project Pet, where guests paint from a photo of their own animal. Standard events run in the evening or on weekend afternoons and usually last a couple of hours. The studio serves beer, wine, and nonalcoholic drinks, along with simple hot food like flatbreads and similar snacks, and does not allow outside food or drink. Age guidelines vary by class, with many evening events geared to adults and some daytime sessions that allow teens or younger kids.

The Alameda location sits in the main section of South Shore Center near other activity-based spots and family attractions, with plenty of free parking in the surrounding lots. Pinot's Palette originally opened here in the mid-2010s as part of the national franchise, then closed around the start of the COVID-19 pandemic. It later returned to the same shopping center, reopening in August 2026 after about six years away, so many current visitors are discovering a newly restarted version of an earlier neighborhood studio.
