It started out in the early 1900s as the Vernon-Rockridge Improvement Club, a neighborhood civic hall that helped shape the surrounding streets and services. The bar keeps the old name and uses the multi-level layout of the historic structure, with some tucked-away rooms and a downstairs area that now holds things like a photo booth instead of committee meetings.
